Many years ago I got my first cordless drill. My husband (now ex) bought it for me and I was almost insulted. It did not have the power I wanted. Now I am older and not as strong, so I figured I'd have to compromise by buying a lighter tool and having less power. I was pleasantly surprised. This baby can do the job. This is no electric screwdriver masquerading as a drill. The battery actually holds a charge and there is the extra battery, so if one runs out you can switch it out and continue rather than wait hours to finish the project. This is a tool for real projects but light enough for dabblers.

How much do I love thee, small cordless drill? Let me count the ways!

I always hated using my old corded drill because of the noise and vibration. After falling in love with my friend the contractor's easy-to-use-but MUCH more expensive 12v "crafted to the highest level of German engineering" brushless cordless drill, I went researching, as his specific model is no longer made and now the least expensive brushless motor in that line costs about 3.5 times more than this one. I figured that I didn't to spend that much as an occasional-use homeowner. I bought this based on both the specs and the almost unanimous positive reviews. I am so so happy with my purchase. Easy to use, easy to control the speed, not enough vibration to set my teeth on edge. The first day I had it I went around unscrewing and rescrewing stuff in my house and drilling holes in scrap wood just because it was so much fun. I just finished assembling a some-assembly-required cabinet, a task which formerly would have been a drag with a manual screwdriver but was fun with this drill. Battery charge lasts a very long time.

This powerful little drill was put to immediate service right out of the box. Color me impressed! I traded up from a 12v Craftsman drill/driver, which gave me no problems, but I've been jonesing for Bosch's version for a few years now.

The PS32 is a slick-looking drill that has about the same abilities as an 18v drill. It has on-board storage for the four bits it comes with, plus an optional belt clip. Although this drill won't see much more than household-type repairs and projects, I'm confident it will serve me for many years to come!

Admittedly, the Craftsman 12v drill I had prior to this costs a fourth of what the PS32 does, but the PS32 looks, feels, and so far performs better. It came with two batteries, a zippered carrying case, and battery charger.
